Cozy and Inviting-- I Love Book Clubs!

I'm so loving book clubs. I've met such interesting people and heard so many wonderful stories from these amazing readers who come together once a month to discuss books.

It amazes me how one book can resonate so differently with each reader. The way one perceives a book is kind of like the homily at church: just when you need it the most, it seems to speak directly to you. I love when a book can do this--stir emotions at just the right time. And, when I hear from a reader who says The Fifth Floor or Just Like Ziggy has moved them, it makes it all worth it.

Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting with a group of 15 friends. It's so cozy and inviting being with other book lovers; large or small in number, meeting at a cafe, library or in the comforts of a home, wherever it may be, I love the comforting and inviting feeling that come from the comaradarie created by written words.

Books make a difference in people's lives, and I'm so glad to be part of it all. Thanks, readers, for inviting me into your circle of friends for a night.
